Leaving soon? Use this checklist to catch the things that are hard to replace after you reach the airport. Work through it in order, then pack only the extras your own trip needs.
Before you close the suitcase
- Travel documents: Check passport, applicable entry permission, names and dates on flight and hotel bookings, and the current requirements for your route. Keep confirmations accessible offline.
- Agency and family contacts: Save the hotel address, transfer details, agency contact, and an emergency contact on your phone and on paper.
- Medicine: Put necessary prescriptions and documents in your cabin bag, in original labeled packaging. Check airline and destination rules for your medicines.
- Phone and payment: Charge the phone, save the itinerary offline, check cards, and carry a suitable charging cable and adapter.
- First change of clothes: Keep one change and essential personal care items in cabin baggage in case a checked bag is delayed. Follow liquid and battery limits.
Ihram and daily needs
- Confirm where and when your route requires preparation for Ihram with a trusted guide or your agency. Keep the clothing you will need reachable, especially if flying into Jeddah.
- Pack comfortable footwear you have already tried, and a small secure place for phone, room key, and cash.
- Choose personal care products suitable for your own Ihram guidance. Check labels rather than assuming a product is suitable because of its listing title.
- For a child, include a change of clothes, familiar supplies, and identification with your contact details in the cabin bag.
One final check for the household
- Confirm airport transfer, terminal, baggage allowance, and check in time.
- Share your itinerary and contact plan with someone at home.
- Leave space in luggage. You do not need every optional gadget in an online packing list.
If you are missing an item
These are separate product recommendations. Check current availability and delivery time before ordering. If the flight is too close, use a suitable item you already own or buy locally.

- HajjSafe waist bag for a phone and small valuables when a secure pouch is missing. Skip it if your current pouch works.
- EPICKA travel adapter if your chargers need an outlet adapter. Check the plug types and voltage on each device first.
- Foldable laundry bags for used clothes during hotel moves. A reusable bag works too.
- Lume unscented cleansing bar if you need fragrance free personal care. Check ingredients and suitability for your practice.
