Choosing an Umrah agency is not only about finding the lowest price. The agency you select may coordinate flights, hotels, rooms, visa or entry assistance, Saudi transportation and support during a very important journey. A useful comparison should therefore focus on exactly what the agency is offering and how clearly it explains the trip.
This guide is written for travelers in the United States who are reviewing one or more Umrah package options.
1. Start with the exact trip you want
Before comparing agencies, write down the same basic requirements for everyone you contact: departure city, preferred dates, number and ages of travelers, Makkah and Madinah nights, hotel level, room setup, flights, transportation, Ziyarat, meal preferences and approximate budget.

2. Ask for a written quote
A verbal estimate or a short message with only a total price is not enough for a serious comparison. Ask for the important trip components in writing so you can review them later.
A useful quote should make clear which services are included, which are not included and which details still depend on availability.
3. Check the flights, not just the airline name
If flights are included, look for the departure airport, arrival airport, dates, number of stops, cabin class and baggage allowance. A cheaper option with a difficult itinerary or limited baggage may not be a better fit for your family.
If airfare is not included, make sure you are not comparing a land-only price against another agency's flight-inclusive price.
4. Ask for exact hotel names
Terms such as “5-star” or “near the Haram” are not specific enough by themselves. Ask for the exact Makkah and Madinah hotel names, room occupancy and meal plan.

5. Understand every Saudi transfer
Transportation is one of the easiest areas for quotes to look similar while including different services. Confirm whether the package includes airport pickup, airport departure transfer, Makkah-to-Madinah or Madinah-to-Makkah travel, hotel-to-station transfers and any Ziyarat transportation.

6. Review room occupancy carefully
Per-person prices can change significantly depending on whether the price assumes a double, triple or quad room. Families should also confirm the number of rooms and beds instead of assuming that “family room” means the same arrangement at every hotel.
7. Ask how support works
Find out who will help before departure and who travelers should contact in Saudi Arabia if there is a hotel, transportation or itinerary problem. Ask whether support is provided by the U.S. agency, a Saudi partner, a group leader or a combination of these.
8. Read deposit, change, cancellation and refund terms
Do not wait until after payment to understand these terms. Ask how much is due initially, when the remaining balance is due, what becomes non-refundable and what happens if a traveler needs to change dates or cancel.

9. Be careful with pressure to pay quickly
Travel prices can change and genuine availability sometimes does require a deadline, but a traveler should still understand what is being purchased before sending money. Ask what the payment secures, what can still change and what documentation you will receive.
10. Compare the complete offer
The best option for one traveler may not be the best option for another. A family with young children may value shorter walking routes and private transportation. A solo traveler may prefer a lower-cost group package. Someone with fixed vacation dates may care more about flight timing and change rules.
